GO BACK? YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING! by Libby |
|
| |
My Mom was a wonderful Spirit caught in a lifetime she
just couldn't deal with. Highly intelligent and filled with
empathy for her fellow man, it was as if she was always
picturing life the way it could be, or should be, but felt
helpless to make that a reality.
| |
There's a fine line between intelligence and insanity and
often Mom would become extremely depressed with the
way she saw her life going.
| |
When we were young teenagers, Mom was at her worst
with her depression, and would often talk about suicide.
Feeling trapped in a lifestyle that she felt she could neither
escape nor control, she had attempted suicide more than
once.
| |
One day she succeeded.
| |
We lived in a suburb of a very large metropolitan area,
but due to our circumstances and lack of insurance, the
ambulance was required to make the long journey down
into the center of the city to a General Hospital. It was the
only place that those without insurance would be treated.
My sister rode with the ambulance.
| |
I had not arrived home from school yet, and when I did,
there was a note from my sister telling me to come
downtown to the hospital right away. It was a very long
bus ride.
| |
When I arrived, my sister and I were asked to wait in the
lobby of the emergency area while Mom was being treated.
| |
My Mom was hospitalized for quite a while after that, and
I had not known that, at the time, she had actually died
and had been resuscitated
| |
It wasn't until more than twelve years had passed that I
was told the truth.
| |
In my early twenties, I read a book called "Life After Life"
by Elizabeth Kuhbler Ross. It was a wonderful
examination of the stories people would tell of an afterlife
after having a near-death experience. The experiences
described were of traveling through a tunnel into a warm,
bright light, that many believed was the presence of God.
| |
Shortly after reading the book, I was visiting my Mom and
we got into a discussion of the book and the experiences in
general. My Mom then told me that she had had just such
an experience those many years ago, when she had 'died'.
| |
I was shocked and amazed and asked her why she had
never told me about it. She explained that she hadn't
talked about it because she thought nobody would believe
her. Then I asked her to describe to me the exact
experience she'd had.
| |
She clearly remembered leaving her body in the
emergency room and floating up near the ceiling. She
described the procedure that had happened when her
stomach was pumped. She even described the pattern of
the tile on the floor of the room. She had watched as the
doctors and nurses fought to save her life.
| |
Then she said she had felt a pull and that she turned and
began to travel through a long tunnel toward a very bright
light. She described an incredible feeling of urgency that
she felt she just had to get to that light. She said it was
very warm and the feeling of love radiating from it made
her want to get there all the more.
| |
But when she got to the end of the tunnel and entered the
light, she was told that it wasn't her time and she needed
to return to her body. She remembered protesting that
decision and at that point she was shown a vision of my
sister and myself, sitting in the emergency room lobby, all
alone.
| |
Suddenly she was back in her body and was being
awakened by the doctors and nurses calling her name,
asking her to open her eyes.
| |
For many years after this discussion, I had assumed that
the reason she was sent back was to take care of my sister
and myself. After all, we were very young yet. But that
didn't seem logical, the more I thought about it.
| |
Our life didn't improve and in fact worsened, and
eventually I went to live with my father for the rest of my
high school years.
| |
Many, many years laterämy mother finally gave up the
grudge that she'd held against God and asked Him into
her life and to live in her heart. It was a time of rejoicing
and renewed relationships for us all.
| |
Two years after my Mom accepted the Lord, she became
very ill. Very quickly her conditioned worsened and she
passed away at the age of 52.
| |
Looking back, and with her near-death experience in
mind, it now seems to me that the Lord didn't send her
back that day long ago to take care of her children. I'm
now convinced He had another idea in mind altogether.
| |
I believe He sent her back, because He knew that she really
didn't know Him yet. And I think He wanted dearly for
her to come to Him on her own belief. He gave her many
years to acquire that belief and to attain true knowledge of
Him, and when she'd done that, He called her home
quickly.
| |
Lord. I'm happy you sent her back at the time, because we
needed her desperately. But I'm even more happy that she
had come to know YOU before you called her home, and
I'm at peace with the thought that even now she is in
Your Presence, and ever so grateful that I will see her
again one day.

There are countless records of After Death
Communications and they are not just communications
to adults from adults. There are records of children
speaking to other children, to step parents and even to
friends. In two instances that come to mind I know of a
child who spoke after death to both her mother's friend
and then to the child of that friend. In another case a
young woman spoke within a day of her death to her
mother on one continent and to another adult, a good
friend on another continent. That same night she also
appeared in a dream to the daughter of that lady.

When Clarence Taylor died in an accident in October of
1979 he contacted a number of people, often through
dreams, but not always. Clarence held a special love for
his little nephew Troy. Clarence could relate easily to
people of all ages in life and he would carry this ability
with him past the veil. | | |
TALKING TO TROY by Lois |
|
| |
When Clarence died his nephew Troy, was two and half
years old. Troy had always called his uncle, Clarence-ens.
These next accounts all involve young Troy and his
communications with Clarence.
| |
Lois, mother of Clarence says, "At the time we lost
Clarence our grandson was two and a half years old. I was
going through a hard time so Troy came to stay with us.
He slept in the bedroom across from us. Early each
morning he would come and crawl in my side of the bed
until we got up.
| |
One night about three AM he came running into our
room crawled in between us and said Uncle Clarence-ens
in my bed. I went into the room and saw nothing. Later
when Troy woke up first thing he said was Clarence-en
sure looked nice"
| |
About a week later Troy again mentions seeing his uncle.
Lois says "Del and I went out for the evening while our
son Rick stayed with Troy. Rick had put Troy to bed and
laid down beside him. All of a sudden Troy sat up and
said Uncle Clarence-ens here. Rick didn't see anyone,
however Rick asked if Troy could see Auntie Char. She
died in the same accident. Troy said yes Auntie Char said
Hi Hi. When Troy got up the next morning he said,
"Auntie Char sure is pretty."
| |
After Troy returned home one day he had been a little
stinker and had tired his mom out. Lois comments: Troy
liked macaroni so his mother had made him a dish for
supper but he wasn't eating just spitting it out and
throwing it on the floor. His Mom started to cry. All of a
sudden Troy started eating his supper. He looked at his
Mom and said Uncle Clarence-ens says Troy eat your roni.
Troy's mother said she could see no one in the room."
| |
Lois also talks about a camping trip. "A few months later
we were out camping and Troy was with us. Troy and I
were in the motor home. He looked out the window and
said 'Gramma, Uncle Rick is here.' I looked out and saw
Tommy, my brother-in-law. I said that's uncle Tommy.
But Troy said 'no Gramma uncle Rick is there too and he
has a cowboy hat on.' Clarence had just bought a new
cowboy hat the weekend of his accident. Clarence and Rick
look very much alike.

THE SAFETY PRAYER by Sue |
|
| |
One winter day during a blizzard my two daughters (aged
16 and 12) were on our way home from visiting family.
We were on the highway and the storm got worse as we
were driving. Cars were getting into accidents all around
us and skidding off the road. We were doing our share of
sliding also.
| |
Between the tension, of the storm the accidents around us
and a near miss on our part, my daughters started crying. I
told the girls that we should pray for help from God and
we all started praying. This brought on a calmness and a
peaceful feeling for all of us.
| |
As we continued praying, our car slid right toward a car in
front of us that was sideways on the highway.
Unbelievably, our car came within inches of this car, then
all of a sudden our car veered to the left. I did not turn the
wheel yet our car went right around the other car!
| |
The weather was so bad and it was very hard to see in
front of us. Somehow we swerved around cars and got off
at the next exit which ended up the one before our own
exit. We drove to our friend's house, weathering the
storm and feeling especially grateful for answered prayers.
| |
My oldest daughter commented that we would have been
in many accidents if God hadn't heard our prayers. This
experience has certainly strengthened our faith in God
and we are grateful that he is always listening.

A STORM, A PRAYER, AN ANSWER by Mickey |
|
| |
In February of 1996 my husband and I were travelling
from Georgia to Gatlinburg, together with my sister and
her husband. The weather is very unpredictable at that
time of the year and we were hoping to be lucky enough
to take the Smoky Mountain Parkway from Cherokee to
Gatlinburg. Unfortunately, just as we got there they closed
the Parkway and we were diverted around the Smoky
Mountains due to ice and snow atop the mountain.
| |
By the time we reached the interstate to go around the
mountains that portion was also closed due to the sudden
snow storm. We were forced to take secondary roads until
we could find the interstate open again. My sister and I
were in the back seat when we suddenly noticed the
expressions of panic on our husband's faces. We looked
ahead and realized we were blinded by a blowing snow
that covered the ground making it impossible to tell
where the road was. My brother-in-law said he didn't
know if were on pavement, on the shoulder or heading
off an embankment.
| |
My sister and I grabbed hands and started praying for God
to lead us safely off the highway. Just as we opened our
eyes we saw blinking yellow lights coming out of the
blinding snow ahead of us. It was a salt truck. It made a U-
turn right in front of us and lead us safely down the road
to the first available entrance to the interstate, then
vanished into the snow again as quickly as it appeared.
My sister and I simultaneously looked at each other with
sigh of relief and said, "that was quick."
| |
Coincidence? I don't believe so. Neither of us have ever
forgotten our instant answer to prayer that day. I believe
prayers are answered everyday. We just don't pay enough
attention when they are and discount it as coincidence. If
you ask God for something, pay close attention and don't
be surprised to get an answer.

ASKING FOR HATS by Pamela |
|
| |
"One day a mother and her 8-year-old daughter were
walking along the beach, just at the water's edge.
Suddenly, a gigantic wave flashed up on the beach,
sweeping the little girl out to sea. "Oh, God," lamented the
mother, turning her face toward heaven and shaking her
fist. "This was my only baby. I can't have more children.
She is the love and joy of my life. I have cherished every
day that she's been with me. Give her back to me and I'll
be in church every day for the rest of my life!"
| |
Suddenly, another gigantic wave flashed up and deposited
the girl back on the sand. The mother looked up to
heaven and said, "She had on a hat!"
| |
This is just a silly joke but it reminds me of how I treat
God sometimes. It seems God gives me so much, yet I say,
"What about my hat?" Are we never satisfied? He has
already given us the ultimate gift, His only Begotten Son,
and that is more than we ever deserve, period. If He never
gave us one more thing, that in itself should be enough
and should fill us with awe and joy.
| |
God must be sad about the "hats" I ask for sometimes. You
know what though? He often lovingly smiles and gives
me the "hat" also, like a gentle father who is so very good
and loves so much because it is simply His nature to love.
| |
Remember, you are "whosoever" (insert your name)."For
God so loved so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should
not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
| |
Jesus prayed for you before you were even born: "I do not
pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in
Me through their word."
(John 17:20)

DOCTORS AND PRAYER by Pegi and Patricia |
|
| |
In correspondence Doctor Patricia was talking with her
friend Peggi. The two friends were discussing an accident
that they had been witness to. The story goes like this: "I
was taking Paul back to work and a Hispanic man trying to
elude the police ran across the busy street and right into
the path of a pickup truck. He was thrown over the hood,
hit his side on the rear-view mirror and tore his left side
open. The police immediately got him down on the
ground.
| |
While laying there, he became very agitated, and so the
Lord encouraged me to go over to the man, make the sign
of the cross on his forehead, lay my hand on his head,
pray for him and talk to him in a peaceful tone. While I
was doing this, he became very peaceful, and as soon as I
was done, he became agitated again.
| |
The policeman didn't even make me stand back, as they
usually do. I give all the glory to God for this. I felt very
peaceful about all of this, God as I said, gave me peace."

I'LL SEE YOU IN HEAVEN by LM Willson |
|
| |
Thank you Mommy and Daddy, For the little time we had
together, But now I'm on my way to Heaven, And
without you it will seem forever. As I strolled through
Heaven's Gates, I was greeted by a Heavenly Host. They
said, "Follow us, oh little one, And we will show you who
loves you most."
| |
Then they said, "Look through Heaven's portals." I gazed
through the portal, looking down, There stood you,
Mommy and Daddy, With a bright light all around. Now I
know you are not alone, I saw Jesus by your side, He will
help you with all your sorrow, And with you He always
will abide.
| |
I asked our Lord here in Heaven, As He sat me on His
knee, Please, when it's time for you to come, Your souls
will again, be with me. I know it's hard for you to
understand, That my time there on earth was so very
short, But always keep me in your memories, As we keep
our love within each other's heart.
| |
Look toward the heavens, You will see my star shining
bright, Thank God for all of your blessings, And I'll visit
you in your dreams each night. I love you more than
when you gave me birth, And I thank you for my life you
gave. A crown of pearls is waiting for each of you, For my
little soul you gave to Him to save.
